Is the procedure permanent?

While common concerns regarding the permanency of the process are understandable and natural to occur, in most of the cases, your hair transplant should last for your lifetime. The hair follicles will have been shifted from the donor section of your scalp, making sure that not only is the scalp more prone to accept the transplant, but they should also begin to merge into the rest of your hair in the months that follow your transplant. Each of the hair follicle will produce new hair follicle that grows naturally alongside the hairs that grow in the surrounding area and will behave just in the same way as the remaining of your hair.

While there remains the risk that the patients who all are suffering from what we term as pattern baldness could sometimes experience further hair loss in the future, this can often and easily be solved by a further followed up treatment in order to transplant healthy hairs into the spots where new loss has taken place. The already transplanted hairs, however, has been proven to remain strong and healthy along with good care and should last a lifetime.

The surgeons should always take into account any and every family history of hair loss or baldness and the reasons for your particular personal thinning or hair loss and will be able to properly determine whether you are again likely to lose any hair due to the same reason in the future. This way, the doctors are able to foresee and sometimes even accurately predict any potential future surgeries that should be required and design a desired hairline and density that will gradually blend well with this in the near future.

Permanency is the main reason for which hair transplantation is now a day considered to be the most effective option for restoring and reviving your hair growth. During the surgery, the physician will be using your own perfectly healthy hair follicles to fill up your thinning or receding hairline or even balding areas. These newly transplanted hairs are more resistant to all the hormones that cause hair loss, like DHT and are thus considered permanent. Just because the transplanted hair follicles are DHT resistant, they will continue to thrive and grow even though all the non-transplanted hairs situated around them might continue to miniaturize and even fall out.

Does it hurt?

There is no need to worry about pain at Dr. Paul’s Clinic. This is because Dr. Paul’s clinic uses a robotic syringe called Dentapen, operated by a computer, makes the entire hair transplantation process even more comfortable and painless.
